Ledger is a private tool Badger Tech uses to keep track of your household's bills, budget, messages and mailed notices. It is not a public website, and nothing in it is shared with advertisers or sold to anyone.
What we store
- Account details: your name, email address, phone number and a hashed password. We never store the password itself.
- Profile photo: if you add one, it is kept in the same private store and shown only to people signed in to Ledger. You can remove it any time from your profile.
- Bills and budget: payee names, amounts, due dates, the website a bill is paid on if one was added, and whether each bill has been paid, plus the income and expense lines you or your manager enter. We do not store bank account or card numbers.
- Debts, credit, taxes and savings (only if those sections are turned on for you): balances, credit limits, interest rates, credit scores you record, amounts owed or on a payment plan for each tax year, and savings balances and goals. These are figures you or your manager type in; Ledger does not connect to banks, lenders, or credit bureaus.
- Quick links: the names and web addresses of sites your manager adds to your dashboard, such as your bank or a utility portal. Ledger only stores the address; it never stores what you do on those sites or any sign-in for them.
- Activity log: short notes your manager records about meetings, calls, and decisions, with a date and topic.
- Messages: the notes you and your manager exchange inside Ledger.
- Notices you upload: the photos or PDFs of letters you send us, with the title and urgency you choose. Files are kept in a private store and can only be opened by you and your manager after signing in.
Cookies and analytics
Ledger sets one cookie, used only to keep you signed in. It expires after 30 days or when you sign out. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookieless, does not identify you, and does not follow you to other sites.
We send email for a few reasons: to invite you and help you reset your password, to remind you about upcoming or overdue bills, and to keep you and your manager in the loop (a new message, a notice you uploaded or its status changing, or an activity note your manager chose to send you). Every reminder email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom that stops reminders to you with one click, no sign-in needed. Invite and password emails are not affected by that, since you need them to use your account. Email is delivered through Brevo, a transactional email provider.
Where data lives
The app runs on Vercel, data is stored in a Neon Postgres database, and uploaded files are stored in Vercel Blob. All connections use HTTPS.
Your choices
You can ask your manager to correct or delete any information about your household at any time. When a household is removed from Ledger, its bills, budget, messages and notices are deleted with it.
